Thank you Bernama TV & Krispy Kreme

I was searching for an orphanage kids last week through internet as I had decided to give away 2 dozens (both my mum and I won 1 dozen each) of yummylicious Krispy Kreme from Bernama Tv facebook page. Orait, as some of the address and link are broken in their website, decided to search on our own..yeah we asked around and finally we found out about Rumah Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Yatim Mary at Air Panas Setapak. It was formerly known as Santuary Care Centre.

The centre runs by Mr Mathews and his wife, Mrs Malar, where it was founded by the late Rev. Dr. Mary Rayappan. There are about 48 orphanage kids range from 6-18 years old where the boys and girls stay at 2 separate houses side by side. Currently they are living their life by faith and support from collecting recycle items.

So off we went to Berjaya TimesSquare to redeem the 2 dozens of Krispy Kreme for this week.
Fresh from the shelf...smells really GOOD!!!
Told the staff to get us the signature flavors, so there 24 different colours and taste are picked!
Ms Malar and I. cant really recall why we are laughing..but one thing for sure, I was feeling happy inside out. :)
Anyway the place are quite crowded so most of their stuff are shared with limited spaces
Kitchen area.

Office room
The kids are being taught to be independent at young age. They help each other and love to share
I couldn't be more thankful to both Bernama Tv and Krispy Kreme, because it has given me an opportunity to share it with them. Hope the kids will love those donuts. :) Next week, I'm coming again. :)

They really need your help to continue living their daily life and i hope everyone could contribute in any form of items (clothes, money, stationery, books, magazine, food etc to the centre.

For those who wish to visit and contribute anything, please feel free to contact Ms Malar at 016-623 9235 or Mr Mathews 016-687 7220

NEED HELP! Pusat Jagaan Titian OKU Nur (Taman Tasik Titiwangsa)

1 MAY 2011 - Few years ago on the very same date, it was the beginning of a new chapter in my life.  I took the courage to spread my wings and fly far away from negativity and cluster of dark past. It was one of the awkward moment but I know I was happy and as the saying goes..I’d move on…literally. I’ve learn to love myself and appreciate life even more. Looking back, I was really grateful of what I had gone through coz at the end of the day. I’ve LEARNED!.well..I count my blessing and I try to live my life as interesting as possible.
Today, I decided to collect the 2 cartoons of Nestle Bliss from Carrefour, Midvalley as we was the 1st 200 that registered under the Hotfm website.  THANK YOU HOT FM!
Nestle Bliss drink...yummy

Normally I tried to do my charity bits each time I go back hometown at Pertubuhan Pengurusan Pusat Jagaan Orang-Orang Istimewa Mentakab, Pahang. Happen to be, just the other day, I noticed a signboard of Pusat Jagaan Titian OKU Nur at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa

So I thought why not we go and check it out since we agreed to give it away those drinks to charity anyway.  Upon reaching the welfare home, noticed that the gate was locked and the place was really quiet. Seems like no one there. After calling for few times, then came this young lady and she opened the gate for us. We asked for the person that managed the place while Joshua and I carried those drink and place it inside the home. B went to park the car at the side of the home.

Finally the caretaker, Pn Normah Binti Safar came out and welcome us with big smile. My heart sank when I saw this beautiful girl named Nana came and asked me a bottle of the drink as she keep asking where I came from, what’s my name and etc. She speaks very slowly, word by word but with good command of English, Malay and even Chinese. I asked her where she learn from and she said she love to read especially Mangga magazine. Listening to her questions while she look into my eyes was emotional but not until when I was about to leave that she hugged me tightly and asked just one question “When are you coming again?” and she cried. At that point, I tried my level best to hold back my tears..I don’t easily cry but it just hit my emotional bucket real hard. I tried to console her not to cry and I said..dont worry..I’ll come back, okay. We asked Pn Normah, what kind of help they require, the first things she said was food especially milk and rice. But they accept whatever contribution given, even if the food has expired, they will also eat them, she added. Infact she said that we are the 2nd person to visit them this year and the welfare was established since 2 years ago.  There are about 20 occupants including old folks and handicapped that being  taking care of full time.

So without wasting out time, we straight headed to Giant, Batu Caves and get some provisions. The place was packed maybe due to the long holiday weekend. After getting all the necessary, we went back again and Pn Normah with another kitchen helper (she asked me to call her Tok), came and help us to unload those stuff. Nana was smiling from ear to ear as I handed over the Mangga magazine.  The look on their face shows how happy they are to receive those items even though our contributions are small.

I know I can’t be asking everyone to feel like what I felt, but I would really appreciate if all of you who are reading my blog until this very sentence to come and visit personally and do your part too. It could be a simple contribution from cash, food, clothes, personal hygiene, adult diaper, magazines or even your presence to spend some quality time with them alone are greatly appreciated. They are urgently in need all of the above as not many are aware of their welfare.
If you happen to go for a walk at Taman Titiwangsa or to catch a show at Istana Budaya, I do hope you could also lend a helping hand as it is just few meters away.  The full address is as below:
