I used to be called 'Jungle Woman' by my closest friends in school. At the beginning, I used to hate it but as time goes by, I kinda grow fond of it and take that as a compliment. :P Anyway my adoration towards nature is simply a lifetime passion. Ive been taught to love it, I am still loving it now and will always be. I've always wanted to make a trip down to Taman Negara Pahang which is just merely 2 hours drive from my hometown but never had a chance to coz firstly- no kakis (gang), secondly- the idea seems to wash away of an ideal weekend getaway for most of them outthere . I've been to other Taman Negara like the one in Selai, Johor. But finally after being called anak Pahang for almost 3 decades, finally i was there! So last Saturday, I went there with my dad and bro, Anand. Mum couldnt make it due to work. :( Thanks to SANTAI magazine. Those who dont know what or where Taman Negara is-please check HERE
We started our journey a little too late but it was all good. The road trip started with the normal road to Jerantut town before heading to Padang Piol (Felda settlement area). The skies are getting darker and with the raining seasons, definately it will be raining tonite.
Since it was Hari Raya AidilAdha, we packed lemang and rendang as it sold abundantly along the road
another 120km to Taman Negara
Upon reaching the destination, it started to pour heavily. And as Anand wanted to park at the designated area, he accidentally accelerated reversely that ended up one of the back tyre of the van went to the drain. luckily, we managed to pull it through once dad take over while Anand and I pushed from behind. As we are drenched wet now, it couldnt get any better than this. We still need to take the river crossing over the river by boat. Cost only RM1 per person with less than 2 minutes journey.haha. At last! Climbed the stairs and checked in.Mutiara Taman Negara!
its raining..time for some river crossing..:)
The room was awesome with 2 single beds, 1 sofabed, clean toilet & shower room, water heater, aircond, fan and the best of all everything are in good condition. Room per night cost Rm490! The last trip to Taman Negara, we actually camped by the riverside, so getting a chalet might be a little 'luxury' accommodation. The experience are different all together. However. this chalet remind me of Permai Beach at Santubong, Sarawak. We immediatelly dig in the rendang and lemang that we bought earlier after shower. So yummy. But since we are still hungry, we decided to cross over to get proper food for dinner..ahaks!
After dinner on a floating restaurant, we decided to do some night jungle trekking. We were lucky to spot wild Tapir who are in the brink of extinction. Also a wild boar that are no longer wild..hahaha. drizzling and cold, the walk seems to be cooling with pleasant suprise. :)
The wild boar that are no longer wild
fresh poo :P
Tapir having dinner.

Will update soon on our trek at world's longest suspension brigde- Canopy Walk. not for those who are afraid of height! stay tuned!
