Skytrex Rox!

Just to keep the hype going after some cool bamboo rafting the week before, ive decided to finally use up my Skytrex vouchers that has been ‘hiding’ inside my contest winning envelope. So i made a reservation with the Skytrex management and decided to finally give it a try on Saturday, 18/2/12. It was the Extreme Challenge which was also the 'toughest' compare to Little Adventure & Big Thrill. Only come Friday that i realised i still have not find a partner. So as i was facebooking, i just asked randomly to Fatin and YES, she is very much interested! Cool! The beauty about contests is that it made our ‘connection’ to access anything anytime anywhere easily. Hahaha...not quite coz firstly we need to put some effort to own it. Orait back to Skytrex, Fatin actually applied leave that Saturday and invite her friend to tag along, happen to be Ruxyn won the vouchers from the same contest under Castrol Malaysia too. Unfortunately she had exams so she just pass it to Fatin.
weeeee....crawl, walk, slide, glide swing..etc
Then it was Saturday morning, Fatin wakes me up and asking where am I. We supposed to meet at bangsar lrt about 840am. Little did I know she was almost there after meeting up with Ruxyn. I rushed to Bangsar Lrt after shower and poof was there at 845am..lol. Luckily that Fatin was quite familiar with Shah Alam area since she used to study there..so we reached there before 10am only to be disappointed by the rain! The staff at the Skytrex counter told us if the rain doesn’t stop then we might have to reschedule to another day..WHAT???? so as we waited and prayed hard so that the rain will stop, Fatin’s fren, Niza finally arrived.  Surprised to see that the crowd are getting bigger as most came here to visit the Rumah 4 musim. Entrance fee is only RM3.
RM3 only..come let's enter!
There are also bike for rent, jungle trekking and some interesting places to be visited. But maybe next time coz we are all hyped up to try this. Especially ive always wanted to try this but always has to be turned down due to non kakis and tangans plus not the right timing. Having said that, suddenly we were asked to wait at the bus stop where their colourful shuttle ride was parked. It was still raining but so long there’s no lightning or thunder then we are good to go.
water bottle casing for rent
After 10 minutes of waiting and our shuttle are fully loaded with Skytrex enthusiasts ahaks, finally the driver took us on a joyride passing by lushful green through a winding road uphill and downhill. Upon arrival we were asked to register and sign the letter of indemnity..there was where I saw how high the platform where we are about to venture in..gulp!  Suddenly i’m not only feeling excited but nervous as well, seems like butterflies in my stomach started to kick in. We bought gloves at Rm3 as protection for our hands. And rent the water bottle casing to avoid being dehydrated and locker to keep our backpack. Since we do not want to miss our mischievous act like a monkey, we bought along our compact camera and place it together inside the water bottle casing.

GREEN!
First and foremost, we were asked to head up to the main point where the marshals will help us out to put on the harness, later we were brief on all the safety precautions and method how to handle the pully and #forgot what it was called# while we are up there 22m high above ground.
come and get your harness
orait guyz, if u r afraid of height, this is the best time to admit and get out of here!..neah just kidding
After all that talking, let’s put it into practise. We first climbed a ladder that was like 10 steps up, and did our first flying fox. Testing done, later we were left pretty much on our own. Niza went first, she climbed like almost 2  stories high and then did her first flying fox while screaming her lungs out. Suddenly one of the platform crack after one white guy stepped accidently on it. Then we were told to hold on as the team pull a plywood from bottom to up and fixed it immediately.
wah...so high up to climb the stairs
now i feel like im in a quest to find some treasure at the end of this --indiana jones i was!
As i climbed the stairs, it wasn’t all that scary till i reached the top and was standing at the platform,,,yikes...it was slightly windy and i looked down...thanks to my ridiculous curiosity..hahahha...feeling a little fear, but no turning back yo...so i rest my self into a sitting position and off i slide like a flying fox ...weeeeeeeeeee....now that wasn’t bad..hehehe... after reaching to the end, i need to crossed over on a spider web up, and slowly we venture into other extreme challenges that was equally mind blowing and testing our mental, physical and spiritual. I almost give up at one of the challenges coz i was just too drained out. But as we gave some moral support towards each other, it was all good.  We did the monkey bar, walked through broken pieces of wood steps, even walked on a single cable cord!  But the most challenging for me was the pipe task as it was slippery and wobble like a bubble.
hanging tough! hehee
like a spiderweb
But all in all, i really had fun doing it and don’t mind to come again next time. This was fun! I feel like a jungle woman again...kekekeke...it was certainly breathtaking to able to do all these in the beautiful jungle with lots of greens up in the fresh air.
look down
this surprisingly was the easist for me, provided i keep my balance right..hehe
i was drained out ..but the ride must go on!
This was the toughest for me..the pipe are slippery and wobbly.
Orait, even thought Skytrex seems like a cool adventure stuff, but always ..always remember that SAFETY comes first.  Buckle your harness correctly based on diagram on each challenges,  never take for granted or you may fall and crack a bone or two or perhaps committing a suicide death. Muahhahaa....did i just scare you off? anyway just go, try it and have fun,,orait? I promise you it will be fun! oh ya thanks to CASTROL MALAYSIA for the vouchers!
see no evil. hear no evil and speak no evil..yeah right...it was wicked ride altogether!
Finally we pumped our adrenalin for some 34 extreme challenges! some are 22m high so to speak. the trail r simply rocking like a mum cradling the baby chair..furiously..LOL. thanks Fatin and Niza for a great workout on saturday morning. thank god the rain stopped or else we might hv to rescheduled for another day..since that doesnt happen...it was certainly a day filled with enjoyment, thrilling, anticipating and some weak knee shaking..muhahaha

Bamboo Rafting at Ulu Langat (Tourism Selangor)

To be honest (like i'm gonna lie), I have always afraid of water but having said that, my alter ego on the other hand is one crazy lil'devil that has been injected with deep passion of adrenalin pumping activities.  As such, my medulla oblongata seems to be disturbingly obligated towards it. It strike me at times that “why on earth did I just did that?” after round of challenging task but as if I was almost hypnotized into a world of supernatural or perhaps overdose of weed (well im just figuratively saying), i just cant stop myself from indulge in it.
Having aquaphobia wasn’t something that Im proud of, hence Im always believe in keeping my life as Interesting as possible, after all Life’s an Adventure! And never underestimate ourselves, coz hey you’ll never know what you are capable of until when you actually try it yourself. So that is why I love taking up these challenges just to outdo myself.
Orait enough of ‘hints’ let spilled some serious beans. Last Saturday (11/2/12), I’d joined with some really sporting people for a unique water based activity called bamboo rafting. Thanks to Tourism Selangor (TS) for the idea of bringing people to try out different stuff around Selangor on regular basis.
Bamboo rafting--cool "advert"
Well I joined their 1st #TSDayout to Pulau Ketam and love it, so when this came out, I just jumped in. Some of you guyz might have probably heard and tried it yourself, but those who haven’t, you should especially if you are not into fast/speed phase movement.
Woke up early and took a cab to Bangsar, meeting point was MCD Jln Telawi at 7am and will be leaving at 730am.This was probably the first time im seeing Bangsar so empty and QUIET. Reached there about 710am and met Renu (one of the TS staff). TS is kind enuff to hire a bus to accommodate participants.
1st time seeing Bangsar so quiet and empty..spooky
It was slightly punctual this time around as everyone managed to arrive on time. So we left at 740am and upon reaching Hulu Langat, we waited for the owner of UluHati, Shaipudin to guide us to his ‘paradise’. Seeing him for the first time while he sipped his pipe really reminded me of the good old cowboys ive seen in movies.
The modern cowboy?
Finally after 'touched down', we could see all the bamboo raft was floating on the river. So that save us time to ‘built’ our own raft even tho I would love to try to make one..hehehe..well maybe next time. Maximum 3 on a raft where 2 will be siting on it and another would be the peddler. The orang asli tribe were all ready and did a good job on handling the raft.
jeng jeng jeng...life jacket for the non-swimmers
Our journey was a pleasant one except for certain obstruction where we got stuck on stones. Water was pretty shallow thus it wasn’t as smooth sailing as we expected. Overall it was a cool experience. Watching the clear blue skies as the ray of light penetrating each trees right to the thick leaves and branches was simply breathtaking. The best view while I gazed myself with the backdrop of mountains and deep jungle…bliss!
passing by Orang Asli village
Unfortunately due to safety precautions, we are not permitted to handle the bamboo raft by our own throughout the whole journey but I have no complain coz more time for myself to point and snap plus enjoying every moment of greenery around me..literally as certain area are polluted with plastic bottles and rubbish.
pic taken from Azuan Ahmad Zahdi..yeah the sun decided to visit us..Nazri received a call at the back..hehe

an usual sight of bamboo rafting that day
where water level are pretty deep and a sharp turn need the experts to maneuver
Just chilling and relaxing while I enjoyed the nature

Our hardworking guide
finally arrived safe and sound..
After 1 h 30 min, we reached the final point, then we embarked on a van where they send us to UluHati Sanctuary. After refreshed, lunch was served. Kampung style food with ikan keli masak lemak, sambal udang, pucuk paku gajah and rendang ayam kampung. There were also ulam with delicious varieties of sambals eg budu, belacan, cencaluk (fermented durian) yummyyyyy.
i was busy describing how similar bamboo rafting were in Manila (Pasagjan) except that there were waterfalls both on the left and right through out the journey.
After all that yummy food, its time for Blowpipe Demo…interesting true stories to be told. Some are pretty nasty while some are pretty farnee. Tok Batin definitely the best person to convey those stories with his comical gesture and expression.

blowpipe demo..sumpit jangan tak sumpit..hehehe
In conjunction with the theme Adventure, participants are also encourage to join in a photography contest. 5 winners will be rewarded RM250 each for selected photos that depicts the theme. Didn't managed to snap some great photos but at least i had fun during the ride..hehe. Later we were also given a chance for a tour where we gotta chance to 'mingle' with those deers, dogs, horses, pony and goats..:) So many tips given by the man himself on how to rear those horses..economically.
OK..white water rafting, tube rafting, parasailing, wakeboarding, bungee jumping, Gforce, Zorbing and Bamboo rafting has been CHECKED from my list, hrrrmm…let’s just wait and see what next in my timeline.

In the meantime, if you wanna have fun like I did, just remember to like Tourism Selangor and check out their regular updates event, who knows I’ll be meeting u there soon!

peace out! pic from Azuan Ahmad Zaidi

I love My Kia Forte Koup

So while i was hunting browsing for some information in the world wide web, I came across the advert below:
Aaaaaahhhhh...temptation kicks in...emotion running wild with imagination of that sexayyy thang while I'm driving this beauty and painting the town red.
Orait the truth is, I have so many things planned out during these dates 11-15th Feb 2012 (Hint hint). But first i need to have a reliable mode of transportation. You see, on 11 Feb morning I need to be somewhere in Hulu Langat and tried out bamboo rafting.

Immediately after that, I have to go back to my lovely hometown, Mentakab Pahang. So to make the road trip simply exciting and adventurous than the norm, I was thinking of test drive this beauty along Karak Highway.
karak highway-*pic source from google.
Cruising the lush greenery with much anticipation this place could offer. Next is to surprise my parents and go for a ride before indulging with some makan-spree at this town. Then head to the nearest beach-was thinking of Cherating!!.. and chill out like we used to do. Along the way, stop over for some more makan and KODAK moments. :) And if we are lucky, maybe to check out the turtle sanctuary too.

So the Question now is Why I love my Kia?
Because RED is my colour of passion,
Not forgetting KIA Forte Koup as my latest addiction,
Cute, compact and a model that ignite inspiration,
Simply blow me away with deep admiration!

What so special about KIA, you may ask,
Forte Koup to be precised is here with an extraordinary task,
No it doesnt need any superpower or painted with special mask,
Just represents simplicity and exude seduction with a bask!

Oh well so what if I am an attention seeker,
Dont we all sometimes act like some sort of a swagger,
With contradiction that i beg to differ,
Anyway..just can wait to drive move like Jagger!.

And please check out a simple 'animation' that ive created for your viewing pleasure. Jacky's confident level raise few steps higher after falling in love at first sight of the KIA Forte Koup.

Pssttt...hope I win this so that I could have a sexy ride for Valentine's Day!
