Asia's Got Talent - Meeting Mel C and David Foster!

Ever since I first saw the ‘Wannabe’ video clip song by the Spice Girls in MTV, I was hooked.  It was like within a very short period of time, these 5 young girls with very different characteristic became an instant sensational in the world of pop music. Every girls want to be like them, every boys adore them..yeah that explained even David Beckham scored a wife!

The Spice Girls comprises of Emma (Baby Spice), Geri (Ginger Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice) , Mel C (Sporty Spice) and Victoria (Posh Spice). I on the other hand have always had an eye on Mel C. I love the tomboy and sporty look that she portrays plus she can really sing on a high pitch note. I grew up listening to their hits one after one another, I used to save some money from selling handmade 3D cards/bracelet/namecard etc and purchase the Galaxie and Brit magazine for their posters. I even joined some MTV contest on television by posting letters (I don’t have a computer at that time) and won their album cassette. Their music used to be my companion during studies, low and high time and dancing with my little sisters..hahaa..those were the days. And their posters filled the wall at the corner in my home.

While on a separate note, the legendary David Foster is a name that needs no introduction. A 16 times Grammy award winner, he discovered and keep discovering raising stars with great intuition and integrity. Remember the late Whitney Houston, Celine dion, Micheal Buble, Charice, etc…well he literally raise them up!

Orait, enough of the travel back in time..recently, I was given the chance to meet one of the popstar, Mel C! thanks to MixFM, Astro and AXN for making my teen dreams come true. Who would have thought that a long time dream came true that very day. Thanks Kanmani!

which i could be in Singapore for the live finale..but for now we settled with this.

I arrived Doubletree by Hilton quite early to avoid the traffic. Supposed to start at 3.30pm but the event only started at 4.30pm. They served some light refreshment for us. It was a small group of meet and greet, I presume most of the winners are not able to make it since it’s a weekday.  Anyway, Kanmani and I just hang out while eating the delicious finger foods.

The MC of this meet and greet session was Mr Melvin Aeria and he kept us entertained with his chatty friendly personality.Then finally the time that we are waiting for has arrived. The minute Mel C and David Foster walked in from behind the partition, we were screaming and loud applause was cheering for them.

Kanmani and I couldn’t stop smiling and giggling ..its like almost unbelievable as we got the best seats sitting at the front row and I must admit my heart skip a beat.

Melvin introduced both of the popstars legends with a snippet video of the Asia’s got talent show which I follow through in AXN channel.  Such amazing talents we have here in Asia. Seriously..i  was not expecting this. Anyway, while Melvin was interviewing both David and Mel C, both Kanmani and I couldn’t help it but giggling and keep taking pictures of them, Suddenly David just stopped Melvin politely and said : pardon me, but I am really curious why is this two girls are giggling about? Can I just asked them now?” as he walked towards us. I was like uh oooo… and I stopped clicking the button on my handphone.

David was curious to know why both Kanmani and I keep giggling.

He turned the mic towards Kanmani where she replied, because my dreams come true..which David quickly replied “ but I am dreamcrusher” and then he look at me and turned the mic to me..and I was blank..but at the back of my head, I basically think I would have said that.. so  I asked David..: can u pinch me? and raise my palm.. which he obliged and pinched the back of our hands. We were like “whattt???”  to which I replied to him..ok now we are not dreaming..its a reality.. he just smiled and walked back to Mel C..

I guessed he just want to release the tense in the room earlier by making us feel like we are meeting long time friends then our idols. We were lucky for sure being 'discovered' by the legend behind the legends. David even asked all of the winners to lose out the red lanyard hanging on our neck..haha..He really treat all of us like friends than fans. So friendly and down to earth.

Another opportunity kicked in, as earlier during the registration, we were told to write a question on a piece of post-it where all the post-it will be picked up during a lucky draw to ask the judges of Asia’s got talent.Only 3 post-it will be picked up and this 3 lucky persons will have a chance for 1 to 1 photo opportunity with the judges and an autographed poster and CD. Guess what? I was the 3^rd lucky person to be called! Woots. My question was read aloud by Melvin for both David and Mel C and it goes “ If you were given the chance to perform in the Asia’s Got Talent, how would you showcase your talent beside singing?”

Mel C answered  “she will do acrobat” and David said he will dance! Just last Thursday was the finale , and for the first time ever of this Talent show franchise where all 4 judges really perform for their fans and audience at Singapore! It was wicked!

Meeting both Mel C and David was surreal. I even managed to tell David, we all should go for local food later but he said he is rushing to the airport as he need to be in Singapore for the finale. Mel C still have her sporty charm only much more feminine right now.

Well what can I say, another great day of meeting my teen idol and a legendary that is respectable in the music industry. How music bring such huge impact in our life and Without the melody and rhythm, the world would be dull and boring.

So I have met Mel B in 2011 and Mel C..now when can I meet the other 3?? Only time will tell. Keep dreaming and making it happen interestingly guyz!

I Am The Unstoppable Explorer

-Why do I call myself an unstoppable explorer?

I Dare to Dream and lead my life as interesting as possible. that include a lot of outdoor adventure or go camping in the wild! Curiosity keeps me alive and wander about life. And joining contests has been my passion as long as I could remember. Bring me any contests and I will be in it! Best of all, I can still watch my favorite GLEE or NATGEO with Astro-on th go while I'm on it. 

-The challenges I've faced in my most recent adventure and how I overcome it

Recently I packed my stuff and went on a 5D 4N trip to the Island of Gods, Bali . I am an aquaphobia but that doesn't stop me from running my stint of adventure by trying the first water exotic sport in Indonesia, the Underwater Scooter. I was pretty worried the minute I went in underwater, but I got myself composed and just enjoy the whole journey of feeding those colorful fishes without too much worry on the lack of oxygen level .. haha

-Essential gadget I can count on in my adventure?

I desperately need good smartphone that I could count on. Not only I could document all my adventure and travels escapade but also  helping me to be interactive via social media and inspire others to try it too. 

-And how Astro-On-The-Go allows me to continue being the unstoppable explorer? 

Well..super easy - anytime and anywhere I could check out my favorite programmes even while doing my yoga or while relaxing on a hammock after some splashing on an island.

Laser Tag TOPSHOT Challenge at Awana Genting (Astrolife)

Hey everyone!. have you guyz heard about laser tag before? Or indulge in this fun activity at least? Some of you might tried the indoor laser tag in Midvalley but the one that I am about to introduce is something bigger, louder & more drama..LOL..okok the Outdoor Laser tag very much remind me of a paintball field only that you would not be going home bruised from the paintball attack unless you hurt yourself during the game. They have all the bunkers and their machine (heavy I must add) and a laser button that are strap nicely on your forehead. You have to aim your opponent and bear in mind that you could reload your 'bullets' just by pressing a button on your machine as long you are still 'alive'. The wireless sensor to gun connections and able to shoot up to 250 meters under direct Malaysian sunlight!


Well, thanks to Astrolife, I had the chance to be in the running with 3 others to form a team for a thrilling, "strenuous" yet fun game of outdoor laser tag at Awana Genting. The event that supposed to start at 730am but we arrived late and well the event haven't started either. :P even though we woke up very early that Saturday morning. Dad drives us there and upon registration we received the awesome goodie bag consist of a Backpack, towel, cap, tumbler, lanyard tag and some snacks to stuff us before the race.  The rest of it, enjoy the photos.

Even though our team didn't make it to the finals but we had fun competing with the other generations..LOL..it was a cool experience and Thank you Astrolife for the opportunity! best of all, we make new friends. :)

After all that tiring game that almost took our breath away, we settled with Kari kepala Ikan Ratha at the foot of Awana Genting. The taste was average..I think mum's kari kepala ikan still the best! :P

the same thing too just that we stopped him from continuing the 

game as he was out of breath after the 2nd round. What a good way 

to celebrate Father's day! hahaha

Dinner with Samantha Brown (TLC Travel Goddess)

So I was not only get to stay at 5 stars Hilton, but I was also given the chance to meet someone that I've been watching only on tv all these years. Yes i grew loving her show and her bubbly personality while she explores the world almost 230 days a year!
The anticipating is running high as I am so eager and anxious to meet TLC most lovable Travel Goddess, Samantha Brown! The dinner supposed to start at 7pm, but oh well i have no idea why does this so called 'VIP' need to come late..if you blame it to the traffic, then why did we have public transport like the Monorail/PUTRA LRT/STARLRT or even the KTM located just a stone away from Hilton KL? like Duh? All of us here just want to meet Samantha Brown! Anyway since I'm staying in Hilton, I was there early and managed to catch up with other winners and invited bloggers like Tian Chad, Yi Wern and Helenness.

Joey G was the MC for the dinner event and he was trying his level best to keep everyone awake while waiting. :P Finally managed to meet Connie Lim, Marketing Manager of Discovery Networks Asia Pacific and the rest of the management from Compass Communications. Really friendly people! Great that they provide a Polaroid session where we get to dress and pose for photos with the signature props from all around Asia.

 And as the clock strike 815pm, finally Joey G announced that the event will be starting and he called up Samantha name before the door was open and taddaaaaaaaa

She really look so lovely in that pink sari and her accessories matches her skin tone.11 years of hosting as I watch her globe trotting on tv and finally meeting her in person was like surreal. After some brief introduction, there were slide show on her upcoming new show, Samantha Brown Asia premiering on 25 July 2011 at Channel 707 (Astro). be sure to catch up coz you might just wanna jet on a plane and venture to this beautiful Asia countries after watching them. Shortly after, dinner were served. The meals consist of distinctive series of delicious food from all around Asia that includes Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Macau. The mini egg tart and the soft shell chili crab was to die for..yummylicious!

After the 3rd course meal, Samantha came to each tables and there where we had chance to meet/chat/HUG/photo/autograph and share some travelling memories. Priceless!

She got my name spelt wrong but quick to amend it with a sorry note..so nice of you Sam!

She is such an inspiring person and I actually asked whether is this her dream job since she was young. She actually told me, it was a dream job that she never dream off. Yes, she never thought about it but one thing lead to another and as TLC were opening for auditions, she just went for it and score! Since then, no turning back. She loves meeting people, very down to earth, humble and yup ..with great sense of humor too. One advise she gave me, anything can happen when we dare to dream. Her warm hug just made my day! Awwwwww...:) She really look good in person and as if she doesn't age at ALL!. Later she showed us some photos through a slide show of all the Asian countries and she loves the most was Cambodia! The hard life of the people there doesn't deter their hospitality and of course the magnificent Angkor Wat simply amaze her. 

Finally after dinner, had a chance to take picture with the MC, Joey G. (notable Dj /host in clubs and events) Such a humble guy too.
